Thank you for your support during the 2020 Giving Challenge. $59,567 was raised to help the dogs and cats at HSMC. You saved so many lives, four paws at a time!

Mark your calendars on April 28-29 from noon to noon for the 2020 Giving Challenge, an exciting online 24-hour giving event.

Beginning at noon on April 28 and continuing until noon on April 29 all donations up to $100 will be matched by The Patterson Foundation. Your donation will help dogs like Marty, found as a stray; hungry, dirty and scared. Cats like Espresso, found in a garbage bag with her newborn kittens, would have died without intervention by caring humans.

The Giving Challenge is an amazing 24-hour online giving event that is coming again on April 28th and 29th, 2020. This event has impacted more than 600 non-profits in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties who have participated by having updated profiles in The Giving Partner. Humane Society of Manatee County has participated in the Giving Challenge since its inception in 2012. The Giving Challenge has helped area non-profits raise more than $40 million dollars in unrestricted funding since 2012. In just 24 hours, Giving Challenge 2018 helped raise more than $11.7 million dollars for area non-profits.

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County first launched The Giving Challenge in 2012 with the original intent of having a three(3) year lifespan. Based on the community’s commitment and generous support for area non-profits, the foundation has extended The Giving Challenge on an intermittent schedule. The new schedule format challenges area non-profits to strengthen their independent fundraising programs and promotes fundraising collaboration amongst Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto County non-profits.

The Giving Challenge is presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation, as well as support from Manatee Community Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, William G. and Marie Selby Foundation and the Herald-Tribune Media Group. For more information visit http://www.cfsarasota.org/impact/giving-challenge

Effective April 3, visits to the Adoption Center  are available by appointment only.
