COVID-19 procedures for clinic appointments

These are stressful times for all, and the last thing you need is to worry about your pet’s health while we navigate through the current health threat of COVID-19. That’s why at this time, we will continue to be open during normal business hours and will continue to honor all appointments.

In an effort to keep everyone – you, your pet, and our staff – safe and healthy, we will be providing curbside service to our clients, for both pets with appointments and also for picking up supplies or medication. Please text us upon your arrival, and we will send a team member to retrieve your pet from your car and bring your pet inside and/or to bring you your items for purchase while you wait in the comfort of your vehicle. We cannot allow anyone other than staff members and your pet in the building at this time.

The veterinary technician will call to discuss your pet’s recent history and our veterinarian will call to discuss findings from a diagnostic/physical exam while you wait in the comfort of your car. Please make sure your pet is safely restrained with a leash and/or crate for dogs and a carrier for cats.

If you’re feeling unwell or have been exposed, please arrange for someone else to bring your pet in. Alternatively, if you’re not well but your pet is fine and has a wellness appointment scheduled, please be aware that we’re happy to reschedule your appointment; you won’t be penalized for canceling an appointment due to illness or possible exposure.

Thank you very much for working with us while we find ways to continue caring for our patients while keeping everyone healthy and safe! Please message us at clinic@humanesocietymanatee.org or call us at 941-747-8808 option 1 with any questions or concerns.

Humane Society of Manatee County Veterinary Clinic is open to the public, offers low-to-moderate cost vaccinations and vaccine packages six (6) days a week by appointment.  You can schedule your appointment by calling 941-747-8808 Option #1 or by emailing clinic@humanesocietymanatee.org.

Pet vaccinations play an essential role in keeping your pet healthy. Vaccinating your pet can help prevent pet diseases, prevent the spread of certain diseases and helps you avoid costly treatments for preventable animal illnesses. Vaccinating your pets annually lessens the spread of infectious diseases in our community’s pet population. Zoonotic diseases (these are diseases that can be transmitted from the animal to humans) such as Rabies and Leptospirosis can be prevented by getting you pet vaccinated and will protect you and your pet.

Pets must be spayed or neutered in order to take advantage of our high quality, low-to-moderate cost veterinary services. If your pet is not altered prior to their first appointment, we can schedule a spay or neuter appointment for you.
