Become a Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Humane Society of Manatee County. Becoming a member of our volunteer team is easy and the first step is completing the online volunteer application. Call 941-747-8808 Ext. 315 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
Once you have completed and submitted your online volunteer application, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you for further information on upcoming orientation dates and answer any questions you may have. Thank you for considering volunteering at Humane Society of Manatee County and joining us on this lifesaving journey of saving lives four paws at a time.
There is a wide range of volunteer opportunities at Humane Society of Manatee County and you can choose one (or ALL) that aligns with your interests, time availability, and skill level. Volunteer applicants must be at least 18 years old or 16 years old with parental consent. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their volunteer shift. The parent or guardian accompanying the minor must complete an application and complete the orientation process as well.
After completing the online orientation and on-site orientation, volunteers will be issued a t-shirt, name badge, and any necessary training for a $30 onboarding fee. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, capris, and/or appropriate length shorts. All new volunteers will receive a HSMC Volunteer Handbook and copies of all-volunteer policies.
