The Humane Society of Manatee County

15,000!

15000smallOn Friday, Feb 3, 2012 our clinic staff performed it's 15,000th spay/neuter surgery since opening in April 2009! Congratulations to Dr. Julie Hollifield, our vet extraordinaire, and her fantastic team of Marc, Ashley, Heather and Scot who work so hard every day to make a difference in the lives of the animals of Manatee County.

The lucky 15,000th patient was Tigger, a handsome dog who received a free microchip!

The mission of the Humane Society of Manatee County is to lead Manatee County in creating a No-Kill community where animals receive the compassion and respect they deserve.

Our programs are focused on prevention and retention and include: Low cost spay/neuter services, trap/neuter and return for feral cats, Pet Safety Net resources to help you care for and keep your pet, rescue and adoption of orphaned dogs and cats.

We are a community-based private non-profit organization that relies entirely upon donations to do our lifesaving work. Our funding comes from people like you. We receive no monies from any national organization or government entity.

Putts for Puppies!

puttsforpups3smallBig thank you to Hannah Arduini and Hailee Chapin, two National Honor students from Freedom Elementary School in Bradenton! In conjunction with Stoneybrook Golf Club, they organized a unique fundraiser for HSMC. They set up a table on the practice putting green, asked golfers for a donation and gave them a chance to putt and win a sleeve of golf balls donated by Stoneybrook at Heritage Harbour.

Hannah and Hailee raised $124 for the dogs and cats of HSMC over a single weekend! Thank you to them, Stoneybrook Golf Club and all the golfers who participated.  Everyone can make a difference in the lives of animals in Manatee County.
