Why Foster a Pet?
The animals get to live in a home environment. Living in even the best shelter is stressful for an animal. During an animal's stay in a foster home, we can learn if the animal is house/litter trained, good with children and other animals, the pet's personality, and if he/she has any special needs.

Some pets need extra attention. Some pets may need training, special medical treatment, or socialization. Young puppies and kittens deserve to have their early   "childhood" in a home setting, until they can get neutered/spayed, and into our adoption facility.

How Does Fostering Work?
First contact the shelter during business hours. Business hours are 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday. Let us know what type and size of animal you are interested in fostering—cat, dog, orphans, or nursing mothers.

The foster person must fill out an application/agreement. This is for the protection of the animals. All animals will be vaccinated and given a basic health checkup at our shelter's clinic. Spaying/neutering will be  done through the shelter's veterinarian.

Once the animal is ready to be adopted, arrangements will be made to place your foster pet into our adoption facility.

Will I be responsible for veterinary costs?
No. The shelter pays for all medical costs as long as you follow program guidelines.

I just love animals so much, how can I let a foster animal go when it's ready?
There is no denying that it is hard to part with an animal that you have grown to love. It takes a true animal lover to have the courage to open up your heart and home. The sorrow goes away quickly, but the joy and satisfaction of fostering an animal and enriching another person's life lasts forever.

Can I adopt my foster pet?
Of Course! Just go through our adoption process and make it official.
